The School of Creative Media is training a new breed of multimedia specialists - professionals who are not only skilled in the technology of digital media but are also well-versed in arts, writing, story creation and media production and can integrate a multiplicity of media forms. They are being prepared to assist the media industries to adapt to changes and new technologies and to create world standard content. Students are trained in innovation, creativity, critical thinking, and adaptability, and to acquire the capacity to integrate theory, practice, technology and arts. They are also trained to understand the business and legal environments in which media industries operate.
The School will continue to strengthen its role as a leader in creative media in Asia. This involves being an intellectual leader, becoming a leading training centre for students from the region, and becoming a training centre for teachers from other media schools. The School also intends to contribute to the education of students in traditional media and communications faculties and schools.
